1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Dear Anonymous platform,
including any website, mobile application, or related services (the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound
by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Your use complies with applicable laws
4. Nature of the Service
Dear Anonymous provides a platform for private, user-generated, anonymous messages.
- The Service acts as a technical intermediary
- We do not control or endorse communications
- We do not guarantee delivery or availability
- We are not responsible for user conduct
5. Anonymity and Data Limitations

- Technical data may be collected
- Data may be disclosed if required by law or for safety
6. User Content
6.1 Responsibility
You are solely responsible for any content you submit or receive (“User Content”).
6.2 Licence
You grant Dear Anonymous a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to:
- Host, store, and process content
- Transmit and reproduce content as required to operate the Service
6.3 No Confidentiality
We are not responsible for unauthorised access or disclosure of content.
7. Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service responsibly and in accordance with these
Terms and our Community Guidelines & Safety Policy,
which forms part of these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
You must comply with all applicable Community Guidelines when using the
Service. Failure to do so may result in moderation action or enforcement
measures as described in these Terms and the Community Guidelines &
Safety Policy.
Without limiting the Community Guidelines, you must not use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate or exploit another person.
- Submit unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or deceptive content.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Share another person’s personal or confidential information without permission.
- Send spam, scams, phishing attempts or malicious content.
- Encourage violence, self-harm or other dangerous behaviour.
- Attempt to identify anonymous users or misuse the anonymity provided by the Service.
- Interfere with the operation, security or integrity of the Service.
- Otherwise use the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We reserve the right to remove, restrict, delay, block or refuse to
deliver any content, and to restrict, suspend or terminate your access
to the Service where we reasonably believe that you have breached these
Terms or the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy.
8. Moderation and Enforcement
We operate a primarily reactive moderation model,
supported by automated safety measures where appropriate. We are not
required to monitor all content submitted through the Service.
Where we reasonably believe that content or user behaviour breaches these
Terms or the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy, or otherwise creates
a safety, legal or operational risk, we may take any action we consider
appropriate, including:
- Delaying, restricting or refusing delivery of content.
- Removing or hiding content.
- Restricting access to specific features.
- Suspending or terminating access to the Service.
- Taking any other enforcement action described in the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy.
Nothing in these Terms obliges Dear Anonymous to investigate every report,
review every item of content, or take enforcement action in every case.
9. Paid Features and Subscriptions
9.1 Payment Providers
Payments are processed via third-party providers such as Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
9.2 Billing
- Subscriptions may renew automatically
- Billing terms are set by the platform provider
9.3 Refunds
All purchases are non-refundable except where required by law.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights in the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by Dear Anonymous.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
12. Mental Health Disclaimer
Dear Anonymous is not a mental health, crisis, or professional advisory service.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dear Anonymous is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Emotional distress
- Loss of content or data
- User actions or content
Total liability is limited to the greater of:
- Amount paid in the previous 12 months
- £50
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Dear Anonymous against claims arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your content
- Your breach of these Terms
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time where necessary.
16. Changes
We may update the Service or these Terms at any time.
17. No Waiver
If Dear Anonymous does not immediately enforce any provision of these Terms, this does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision or any other provision at a later time.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply.
