7. Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service responsibly and in accordance with these Terms and our Community Guidelines & Safety Policy, which forms part of these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
You must comply with all applicable Community Guidelines when using the Service. Failure to do so may result in moderation action or enforcement measures as described in these Terms and the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy.
Without limiting the Community Guidelines, you must not use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate or exploit another person.

We reserve the right to remove, restrict, delay, block or refuse to deliver any content, and to restrict, suspend or terminate your access to the Service where we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms or the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy.
8. Moderation and Enforcement
We operate a primarily reactive moderation model, supported by automated safety measures where appropriate. We are not required to monitor all content submitted through the Service.
Where we reasonably believe that content or user behaviour breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy, or otherwise creates a safety, legal or operational risk, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including:
- Delaying, restricting or refusing delivery of content.
- Removing or hiding content.
- Restricting access to specific features.
- Suspending or terminating access to the Service.
- Taking any other enforcement action described in the Community Guidelines & Safety Policy.
Nothing in these Terms obliges Dear Anonymous to investigate every report, review every item of content, or take enforcement action in every case.
9. Membership, Paid Features and Subscriptions
9.1 Dear Anonymous Membership
Dear Anonymous offers an optional paid membership that provides additional features and benefits compared with the free version of the Service.
Depending on the membership plan and the version of the Service available to you, membership benefits may include:
- the ability to send up to 5 letters per day;
- the ability to receive up to 5 letters per day;
- extended storage of sent and received letters, allowing them to remain available until you choose to delete them, subject to these Terms and our moderation and safety policies;
- increased distribution or prioritisation of eligible letters, which may allow them to reach a wider audience; and
- other premium features identified within the Service at the time of purchase.
Membership does not guarantee that any particular letter will be delivered, read, replied to or received by a particular number of users. Prioritisation affects how eligible letters may be distributed but does not guarantee engagement or delivery.
9.2 Availability and Changes to Membership Features
The features included with membership will be displayed within the Service before purchase.
We may modify, replace or discontinue membership features where reasonably necessary, including to improve the Service, address technical or safety issues, comply with legal requirements, or reflect changes to the way Dear Anonymous operates.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid subscription, we will provide notice where required by applicable law.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.
9.3 Payment Providers
Membership purchases and subscriptions are processed through third-party platform providers, including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Payments are subject to the payment terms and conditions of the platform through which you make your purchase.
Dear Anonymous does not directly collect or store your full payment card details.
9.4 Subscription Term and Automatic Renewal
Membership may be offered on a monthly, yearly or other subscription basis.
Unless cancelled, subscriptions may automatically renew at the end of each billing period in accordance with the terms shown at the time of purchase and the rules of the relevant platform provider.
The applicable subscription period, price and renewal terms will be shown before you complete your purchase.
9.5 Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription through the platform account used to make the purchase, such as your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
Cancelling a subscription generally prevents the next renewal. Unless otherwise required by applicable law or the relevant platform’s rules, you will continue to have access to membership features until the end of the subscription period you have already paid for.
Deleting the Dear Anonymous app does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
9.6 Prices
Subscription prices are displayed within the Service or by the relevant platform provider before purchase.
Prices may vary depending on factors including your country, currency, applicable taxes and platform pricing.
We may change the price of future subscription periods. Any price changes will be handled in accordance with the requirements of the relevant platform provider and applicable law.
9.7 Refunds
Refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are generally administered by the platform through which the purchase was made and are subject to that platform’s refund rules.
Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other consumer rights that you are entitled to under applicable law.
9.8 End of Membership
When a membership expires or is cancelled, your access to membership-only features will end at the conclusion of the applicable paid subscription period.
After membership ends, your use of the Service will be subject to the features and limits applicable to free users.
Content that received extended storage as a membership benefit may subsequently become subject to the retention and expiry rules applicable to free users.
9.9 Restoring Purchases
Where supported, you may restore an existing membership purchase using the purchase restoration tools provided within the Service.
Restoration may require you to use the same Apple, Google or other platform account through which the original purchase was made.
We do not guarantee that purchases can be transferred between different platform providers or store accounts.

For users who download Dear Anonymous through Apple’s App Store, use of the app is also subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at:
